Urge your Congressional Officials to address the anticompetitive practices hurting specialty pharmacies
Congress has a chance to address the anticompetitive practices hurting specialty pharmacies and negatively impacting patient access to specialty pharmacies before the end of 2024!
Pharmacy protections are needed under Medicare Part D and before the Inflation Reduction Act’s (IRAs) drug pricing reforms go into effect. We need your help urging Congress to act NOW to support specialty pharmacy businesses in their district/state!
NASP is advocating for reforms that will:
- Enforce the federal “any willing pharmacy” law to ensure specialty pharmacies are reasonably reimbursed and their ability to participate in-network and support their patients is not threatened.
- Eliminate spread pricing practices in Medicaid.
- Ensure that metrics used to measure specialty pharmacy performance/quality metrics are standardized and appropriate based on the drugs dispensed and services provided by specialty pharmacies.
- Require plans/PBMs to provide pharmacies all payment information so that any payments or payment adjustments are explained and fully transparent.
Act now! Please log in to the NASP Member Portal to be connected to your U.S. Senators and Representative and ask them to support specialty pharmacy by advocating for pharmacy payment and network participation protections as Congress works to address other drug pricing reforms this quarter.
