Training focuses on access, dispensing, adherence, clinical counseling and management of a range of therapies in specialty pharmacy and chronic diseases. Walgreens Specialty Pharmacy is a leader in specialty pharmacy with four central-dispensing locations and around 250 local specialty sites in communities across the United States. Walgreens Central Specialty, located in Pittsburgh, is licensed in all 50 states and some U.S. territories. PGY1 Community Based Pharmacy Residency (Specialty Pharmacy), Cleveland Clinic, Cleveland, OH

Residency Special Features: PGY1 Community-Based Pharmacy residents will practice at Cleveland Clinic Specialty Pharmacy on the administrative campus of Cleveland Clinic within the care coordination center, as well as select regional and main campus Cleveland Clinic ambulatory care clinics. Required rotations are: orientation, care coordination center 1/2/3 (disease states including: autoimmune/inflammatory, cardiology, hematology, hepatology/HIV, neurology, oncology, osteoporosis), and ambulatory care clinics 1/2/3, where the resident will have an opportunity to choose from 3 different clinics (neurology, gastroenterology, rheumatology, Hepatitis C, HIV/PrEP, and regional oncology). Atrium Health CMC PGY1 Residency in the Specialty Pharmacy Setting, Atrium Health, Charlotte, NC

The Atrium Health Specialty Pharmacy Service (AH SPS) is a health-system-integrated outpatient medication service providing care coordination and clinical services for patients treated with high-touch, high-dollar, self-administered specialty medications. PGY1/2 Specialty Pharmacy Administration and Leadership Residency, University of Kentucky Specialty Pharmacy and Infusion Services, Lexington, KY

UK launched a dual PGY1/PGY2 residency in Specialty Pharmacy Administration and Leadership (SPAL) in July 2018. This program encompasses a two‐year experience that combines the well-rounded clinical experience of UK’s PGY1 Community-Based Specialty Pharmacy Residency with the rotational and longitudinal management and leadership experiences during the PGY2 SPAL residency year. Although this program is marketed as a combined PGY1/2 program it is actually two separate programs where the accepted candidate is committed to completing both their PGY1 Community-Based Specialty Pharmacy Residency followed by their PGY2 in SPAL at UK. Residents in this program also pursue a Master of Science degree from the University of North Carolina Eshelman School of Pharmacy. Graduates of the program will be experts in the clinical, operational, and business aspects of a health system specialty pharmacy.
