The PAN Foundation today opened a new financial assistance program for people living with systemic lupus erythematosus, providing up to $6,300 per year for eligible patients.
Systemic lupus erythematosus is the most common form of lupus. This autoimmune disease can cause inflammation and pain in multiple organs or organ systems, either acutely or chronically. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention estimates that up to 322,000 people are living with, or are likely living with systemic lupus erythematosus—giving some leeway for suspected but undiagnosed cases.
