Specialty Pharmacy of the Year Award Criteria
This NASP award is given to the specialty pharmacy who best demonstrates their exemplary commitment to advancing specialty pharmacy practice and enhancing the patient journey through innovation, leadership, patient satisfaction, service excellence, cost management, and community involvement.
EVALUATION CRITERIA
Nominees will be evaluated according to criteria in the following five categories:
INNOVATION AND LEADERSHIP IN THE FIELD OF SPECIALTY PHARMACY (30%)
- Demonstrates a commitment to enhancing and promoting excellence and innovation in specialty pharmacy
- Establishes and distinguishes themselves as an innovative leader in the delivery of superior patient care and positive outcomes
- Provides consistent and reliable leadership and education focused on assisting members of the healthcare team in the delivery of superior patient care and positive outcomes
- Implements programs and/or services that improve patient care, efficiency, and outcomes
- Provides outstanding service and exemplary contributions to help further the NASP mission and programs
QUALITY/PERFORMANCE IMPROVEMENT INITIATIVES (25%)
- Demonstrates a commitment to a continuous model that results in increasingly effective clinical programs and high-touch support services measuring improved medication adherence and KPIs
PATIENT SATISFACTION (25%)
- Provides exceptional patient support services and seamless patient care that result in consistently high levels of patient satisfaction
- Demonstrates an improvement that increased patient satisfaction as measured by the specialty pharmacy or third-party designee
COST MANAGEMENT (10%)
- Serves as an advocate for patients and offered solutions to manage out of pocket costs; provides greater value while managing cost for payer partners
COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT (10%)
- Exemplifies themselves through their contributions and support of the specialty pharmacy community, including organizations and providers
- Is involved and committed to making the communities where they work and live a better place
QUALIFICATIONS
- Nominee must be a NASP corporate member in good standing
- Nominee must be a licensed pharmacy that dispenses specialty drugs and provides specialty pharmacy services
NOMINATION PROCESS
- The nominator must be an NASP corporate or individual member in good standing.
- The nominator is responsible for submitting a complete award nomination application. The nomination should include a 100 word minimum to 300 word maximum narrative for each evaluation criteria section describing why the nominee is deserving of this award.
- All 2026 nominations must be submitted by May 29, 2026.
SELECTION PROCESS
The NASP Membership Committee will use a blinded, unbiased, and weighted scoring process according to the defined evaluation criteria.
AWARD
The Specialty Pharmacy of the Year Award will be presented at the inSPire2026 conference on September 23. The recipient will receive a trophy, complimentary 2027 conference registration, and recognition on the NASP website, in a press release, in The Advocate quarterly newsletter, social media, and other NASP communication materials.
