Pharmacist of the Year Award Criteria
The Specialty Pharmacist of the Year Award is given to the individual who has made significant and sustained contributions to advancing and elevating the practice of specialty pharmacy.
EVALUATION CRITERIA
Nominees will be evaluated according to criteria in the following four categories:
PATIENT CARE (40%)
- Provides consistent and reliable support for patients, caregivers and other members of the healthcare team resulting in the delivery of superior patient care, positive outcomes, and positive impacts on the patient care journey
- Goes above and beyond to support patients in their greatest time of need
- Serves as an exemplary advocate for specialty pharmacy patients
- Identifies barriers to care and develops solutions to overcome issues
- Demonstrates the highest ethical standards
EDUCATION (30%)
- Regularly seeks and promotes continuing education
- Serves as a coach, mentor, and role model for others
- Contributes to the education of pharmacists, students, or patient care support staff
ELEVATING SPECIALTY PHARMACY (20%)
- Makes sustained contributions to advancing and elevating the practice of specialty pharmacy
- Enhanced operational efficiency through innovation and leadership
COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT (10%)
- Serves as an advocate for the specialty pharmacy industry and community
- Exemplifies themselves through their contributions to the specialty pharmacy community
- Is involved and committed to making the communities where they work and live a better place
QUALIFICATIONS
- Nominee must a current NASP corporate or individual member in good standing
- Nominee must be a licensed pharmacist practicing in a specialty pharmacy
NOMINATION PROCESS
- The nominator must be an NASP corporate or individual member in good standing.
- The nominator is responsible for submitting a complete award nomination application. The nomination should include a 100 word minimum to 300 word maximum narrative for each evaluation criteria section describing why the nominee is deserving of this award.
- All 2026 nominations must be submitted by May 29, 2026.
SELECTION PROCESS
The NASP Membership Committee will use a blinded, unbiased, and weighted scoring process according to the defined evaluation criteria.
AWARD
The Specialty Pharmacist of the Year Award will be presented at the inSPire2026 conference on September 23. The recipient will receive a trophy, complimentary 2027 conference registration, and recognition on the NASP website, in a press release, in The Advocate quarterly newsletter, social media, and other NASP communication materials.
