PAN Summit Hosts 75 Patient Advocates in D.C. to Urge Congress to Improve Healthcare Access and Affordability
This September, the PAN Foundation hosted their Advocacy Action Summit in Washington, D.C., bringing together 75 patient advocates from 28 states to participate in over 300 meetings with lawmakers. Alongside these efforts, thousands of community members sent over 9,000 emails to legislators during PAN’s virtual Week of Action, supporting three policy areas: making the enhanced Affordable Care Act (ACA) tax credits permanent, streamlining utilization management practices like prior authorization and step therapy, and expanding access to obesity treatment.
As a result, the Safe Step Act has been reintroduced in both chambers of Congress, and work continues on extending ACA tax credits before they expire at the year’s end. Click here to read the full Advocacy Action Summit recap.
