Jul 21 · Advocacy
CMS has begun the process of implementing the Medicare Part D reforms included in the Consolidated Appropriations Act by requesting stakeholder feedback on PBM compensation, pharmacy payment arrangements, data collection and reporting requirements. In response, NASP submitted comments on July 20, urging the agency to adopt clear definitions, increase transparency to ensure reimbursement policies recognize the specialized clinical and operational services provided by specialty pharmacies. The letter also encourages CMS to preserve payment structures that support patient access while developing a fair and sustainable framework for Medicare Part D implementation moving forward.
