NASP Submits Comments on the Proposed HCPCS Coding Changes for Immune Globulin Products

Jun 03 · Advocacy

On June 3, NASP submitted comments urging CMS to reconsider its proposed HCPCS coding changes for immune globulin (Ig) products, arguing that the changes could create significant operational burdens and disrupt patient access to critical therapies without a clearly demonstrated benefit. These treatments are essential for patients with serious immune-related conditions and that delays or interruptions in access could lead to worse health outcomes. NASP recommends additional stakeholder engagement and, if CMS proceeds, a phased implementation approach with strong safeguards to protect existing treatment regimens and prior authorizations.
