NASP and Pharmacy Coalition to Congressional Leaders: Enact PBM Reform Now to Protect Patient Access and Reduce Americans’ Drug Costs

NASP, along with a national coalition of major pharmacy organizations, urged congressional leaders to enact comprehensive PBM reform immediately, warning that unchecked PBM practices are driving higher prescription drug costs, accelerating pharmacy closures, and limiting patient access to pharmacies. In a joint letter to House and Senate leadership, the groups said the issue has evolved into an “unaddressed crisis.” The coalition emphasized that PBM reform has broad bipartisan support and called on Congress to advance previously negotiated reforms, including urging action at the next legislative opportunity to protect patient access and reduce drug costs.
