Manufacturer of the Year Award Criteria
The Manufacturer of the Year Award is given to the Pharmaceutical or Biotechnology Manufacturer that best demonstrates their commitment and willingness to work collaboratively with their specialty pharmacy stakeholders to provide enhanced clinical and economic outcomes and positively impact the patient journey.
EVALUATION CRITERIA
Nominees will be evaluated according to criteria in the following four categories:
INNOVATION AND LEADERSHIP (30%)
- Commitment to developing novel, effective, and affordable therapies to support the unique patient disease states serviced by specialty pharmacy
- Provides educational knowledge and support of the specialty landscape to assist specialty pharmacies in providing better patient care and services
- Assists specialty pharmacy to better understand the digital technology landscape
- Delivers innovative services or solutions that:
- Enhance the patient journey and experience
- Optimize clinical and economic outcomes
COST MANAGEMENT (30%)
- Serves as an advocate for patients and offers solutions to manage out of pocket costs
SPECIALTY PHARMACY BUSINESS MODEL ACUMEN (20%)
- Demonstrates a strong understanding of the specialty pharmacy business model and seeks to understand the unique challenges of specialty pharmacy and works to collaboratively develop solutions that are visionary and innovative to drive better specialty patient outcomes
COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT (20%)
- Serves as an advocate for the specialty pharmacy industry and patient community
- Exemplifies themselves through their commitment to removing barriers to patient access and affordability through advocacy and education
QUALIFICATIONS
- Nominee must a current NASP corporate member in good standing
- Nominee must be a pharmaceutical or biotechnology manufacturer committed to driving medical progress by researching, developing, and bringing new medicines that improve health and quality of life for specialty patients around the world
NOMINATION PROCESS
- The nominator must be an NASP corporate or individual member in good standing.
- The nominator is responsible for submitting a complete award nomination application. The nomination should include a 100 word minimum to 300 word maximum narrative for each evaluation criteria section describing why the nominee is deserving of this award.
- All 2026 nominations must be submitted by May 29, 2026.
SELECTION PROCESS
The NASP Membership Committee will use a blinded, unbiased, and weighted scoring process according to the defined evaluation criteria.
AWARD
The Manufacturer of the Year Award will be presented at the inSPire2026 conference on September 23. The recipient will receive a trophy, complimentary 2027 conference registration, and recognition on the NASP website, in a press release, in The Advocate quarterly newsletter, social media, and other NASP communication materials.
