NASP is pleased to share this opportunity from the Infusion Nurses Society (INS):

Global Vascular Access Device Nomenclature Project: Aligning global terminology to support safer care and stronger research

Why the VAD Global Project matters

Inconsistent vascular access device (VAD) terminology affects patient safety, limits research comparability, hinders policy implementation, and creates barriers to interoperability across digital health systems and emerging technologies.

What is the Global VAD Project

This study uses a structured, multi-phase consensus process to develop internationally agreed VAD terminology. Stakeholders from diverse disciplines, care settings, and regions, including low- and middle-income countries, will be invited to ensure globally relevant and inclusive outcomes.

Why Complete the Survey?

By participating, you will contribute to a global initiative to improve how VADs are defined, classified, and monitored. Your input will help inform international standards, strengthen future research, and support better patient outcomes.

To allow time for survey analysis and consensus panel preparation, the survey will close before the panel meeting.

Early participation is encouraged.
