Distinguished Service Award Criteria

The Distinguished Service Award is presented to an individual who has provided outstanding leadership, and made sustained and important contributions to the advancement of the specialty pharmacy industry and to NASP organizationally.

EVALUATION CRITERIA

Nominees will be evaluated according to criteria in the following four categories:

NASP INVOLVEMENT (40%) 

• Provide outstanding service and exemplary contributions to help further the NASP mission and programs

LEADERSHIP (40%)

• Provide consistent and reliable leadership focused on assisting NASP members and members of the healthcare team in the delivery of superior patient care and positive outcomes
• Mentor, coach, educate, and support the development of future specialty pharmacy leaders

ADVOCATE (10%)

• Establish and distinguish themselves as an exemplary advocate for the specialty pharmacy industry

COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT (10%) 

• Exemplify themselves through their contributions and support of the specialty pharmacy community, including organizations and providers.

QUALIFICATIONS

Nominee must be a current NASP corporate or individual member in good standing.

NOMINATION PROCESS

• The nominator must be an NASP corporate or individual member in good standing.
• The nominator is responsible for submitting a complete award nomination application. The nomination should include a 100 word minimum to 300 word maximum narrative for each evaluation criteria section describing why the nominee is deserving of this award.
• All 2026 nominations must be submitted by May 29, 2026.

SELECTION PROCESS

The NASP Membership Committee will use a blinded, unbiased, and weighted scoring process according to the defined evaluation criteria.

AWARD

The Distinguished Service Award will be presented at the inSPire2026 conference on September 23. The recipient will receive a trophy, complimentary 2027 conference registration, and recognition on the NASP website, in a press release, in The Advocate quarterly newsletter, social media, and other NASP communication materials.
