Pharmacy community urges CMS to include standardized pharmacy performance measures provisions in the draft 2021 Medicare Part D Call Letter

The pharmacy community joined together this week in urging the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) to include provisions for the use of standardized pharmacy performance measures in the draft 2021 Medicare Part D Call Letter.  NASP and the other groups relayed that with the implementation of a standard set of performance measures, specialty and other pharmacies could undertake an even more substantial role in improving medication optimization and facilitating patient care coordination.  A draft Medicare Part D Call Letter is expected to be released in the coming weeks.
