Steve has more than 30 years of experience in the pharmacy industry. Steve’s areas of expertise include Ambulatory, Infusion, and Specialty pharmacy operations.  Steve began his career as a Home Infusion clinical pharmacist and advanced through various levels of Home Infusion and Specialty Pharmacy Management.  Steve worked for 22 years at Walgreens in their Home Infusion and Retail Specialty Pharmacy area.  He oversaw national pharmacy services for 8 years for 90 home infusion pharmacies where he guided the pharmacy services through several merger and acquisitions, USP standards compliance, business growth, and unique patient care models for limited distribution drugs.  He then transitioned into supporting Walgreens Specialty at Retail program where he developed the quality and accreditation strategy for over 300 ambulatory pharmacies. In addition, Steve practiced hospital pharmacy at Centegra/Northwestern Health System part-time for several years where he gained acute care experience.   Steve is currently an Executive Pharmacy Director at Vizient Inc. where he works with health systems to assess, optimize, and implement Specialty, Infusion and Retail business lines to expand, improve profitability or grow revenue.  Steve received a Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the University of Illinois at Chicago and is a Certified Specialty Pharmacist.
