Michael Einodshofer is the Chief Pharmacy Officer at OptumRx, a market leading PBM serving over 60 million members within the United States. Michael leads clinical policy, clinical account management, client analytics, and trend management programs within OptumRx.  Michael believes in the value of patient, provider, and pharmaceutical manufacturer management programs provided by PBMs and believes the PBM model must adapt as the healthcare landscape quickly changes.

A seasoned Specialty Pharmacy and PBM executive with over 25 years’ experience in the industry, Mike has driven change within both large and small companies across a variety pharmacy practice environments.  Beginning his career in retail and hospital pharmacy, Michael later led the pharmacy teams within UPMC Health Plan, a large integrated delivery system in Western Pennsylvania.  Later, Michael led Specialty Pharmacy Payer Strategy for Walgreens Specialty Pharmacy before assuming the EVP and Chief Pharmacy Officer role at Maxor National Pharmacy Services.  Michael also served as the 2020-2021 Chairman of the Board for the National Association of Specialty Pharmacy.  Michael earned both a BS in Pharmacy and MBA degree from University of Pittsburgh, where he continues to reside with his wife and two children.
